Eagle-eyed dataminer reveals a potential fifth difficulty option in Diablo 4-

Once you finish Diablo 4’s campaign, your main goal is to work your way up the World Tier ranks to earn better loot from harder monsters. Right now, World Tier 4, aka Torment, is the highest level of difficulty, but there’s evidence of another tier in the action RPG’s files.

Former Diablo Immortal dataminer DatamineARPG has found text and an icon for World Tier 5 that would fit in Diablo 4’s existing difficulty menu. The dataminer said they found a marker placeholder that would point to the capstone dungeon you would need to finish before you unlock it.

DatamineARPG also found names for gems that aren’t available in the game yet. Currently, you can craft five tiers of gems and then slot them into your gear for small stat bonuses. While the files have no information on a sixt…

GTA 5 players pay tribute to departed rally driver Ken Block in the best way possible- with sick stunts-

2023 got off to a tragic start with the death of Ken Block, the legendary American rally driver whose gymkhana stunt videos have accrued hundreds of millions of views in their time. In those videos, Block performed stylish and stylishly-edited routines requiring precise timing and borderline-supernatural talent. So, naturally, a bunch of Block fans in the Grand Theft Auto Online community took it upon themselves to make an in-game gymkhana video (via PCGamesN) of their own in tribute to the man himself.

Created by the TuttoAuto group, it’s peppered with all sorts of references to Block’s original gymkhana videos. A stunt from Gymkhana 7—in which Block drifts under a …

Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator says ‘we’re not a game … what we’re doing is accurate aviation activities’-

FlightSimExpo came in for landing in Texas last week, during which developer Asobo gave a presentation on Microsoft Flight Simulator 24. The game was a surprise announcement during the Xbox Games Showcase, and even caused a little disquiet among its audience who were unclear about whether this was a whole new game or basically a fancy expansion with a new name.

Jorg Neumann is the head of Microsoft Flight Simulator and, after saying the Xbox announcement video had been “paper thin”, came out all guns blazing (thanks, RPS). “Just to give you perspective, there’s many tens of millions of people watching [the Xbox showcase],” said Neumann. “It is good for our hobby to show up in these places”.

Neumann then went on to address some of that initial reaction from the c…

Helldivers 2 gets its new explosive Warbond full of high-yield treats, plus 4 new bank-breaking ship upgrades to help dispense liberty-

Helldivers 2’s new warbond, Democratic Detonation, has just landed—and it’s brought a whole host of fresh goodies for you to get your freedom-loving mitts on, as announced on the game’s official Twitter.

As an aside, I just love the Taken 3 reference here. In case you’re not familiar, the announcement vid is aping the viral meme “Bryan Mills jumps a fence” in which Mills, played by Liam Neeson, takes 14 entire camera cuts to climb over an object. Hardly a man with a particular set of skills, though extremely fitting since I figure Super Earth’s Ministry of Truth just paid an actor instead of capturing real war footage. Anyway, here’s what’s in store inside the Warbond:

Page 1 has the G-123 Thermite grenade, the BR-14 Adjudicator Marksman Rifle, and the CE-27 Ground Bre…

Huh- superhero series Invincible is getting its first PC game, and it’s a visual novel-

Invincible, the comic series created by Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, came back in a big way after the success of its animated series, which released on Amazon Prime in 2021. It’s an ultra-violent yet colourful and creative story, one that parodies superhero tropes without outright condemning them.

Skybound Entertainment have sought to capitalise on this renewed enthusiasm by announcing they’d be working on several Invincible games last year. This tracks—superhero games are popular, and Invincible’s ripe with interesting characters to choose from. So what did they go with?

A mobile game—which kinda buries the lede with its cinematic trailer—was the first announcement. Okay, Marvel Snap did well, makes sense to follow up on that. Their first step onto…

Mystery afoot as Garry’s Mod gets hit by Skibi-DMCA apparently on behalf of Michael Bay’s Skibidi Toilet film studio- ‘Can you believe the cheek-‘-

In what you might charitably call an audacious legal move, Garry Newman—he of Garry’s Mod fame—says he’s been served with a DMCA over none other than Skibidi Toilet, the intensely baffling Generation Alpha meme consisting of a Half-Life 2 character’s head beatboxing in a toilet. It was originally made in Garry’s Mod and is also in talks to become a Michael Bay movie. This is the world we live in and we’re just going to have to accept that, you and me.

Newman revealed the DMCA request in a post on the S&box Discord channel, posting a screenshot in which someone claiming to act on behalf of the Michael Bay-run film studio Invisible Narratives (the one attached to the Skibidi Toilet cinematic universe) accuses Garry’s Mod of misusing copyrighted Skibidi Toilet charact…

Splitgate 2’s first gameplay is here, and yep, adding classes changes everything-

Watch On

A first look at Splitgate 2‘s gameplay shows off how the idea of an arena shooter, but with portals, is still just as wild and interesting a concept as when we first saw it. The 4.5 minute gameplay reveal features a few skilled streamers as they pour over Splitgate 2’s combat, what sets it apart from the original Splitgate, and its three new classes—called factions.

They especially note what’s new about Splitgate 2, particularly the introduction of factions. The original Splitgate had a traditional Halo setup with weapon pickups on the map and periodic power weapons, but Splitgate 2 pivots in a Call of Duty-shaped direction with classes and loadouts. Streamers also noted faster-paced movement, including a new sliding mechanic that punches up firefights.…
